Chet Coppock was an American radio broadcaster and author. He was born on April 30, 1948 in Winnetka, Illinois, U.S. He was also a television broadcaster and sports talk personality based in Chicago.

Chet Coppock was a well known author; he had published 5 books. He was author of three books for Triumph Books (2009, 2015, 2017) “If These Walls Could Talk: Stories from the Chicago Bears Sideline, Locker Room, and Press Box with Otis Wilson”, “Buffone: Monster of the Midway: My 50 Years with the Chicago Bears”, “Fat Guys shouldn’t be Dancin’ at Half Time”, one for Eckhartz Press (2018) “Your Dime, My Dance Floor” and one for Self Published (2014) “Chet Coppock: Laying it On the Line”.
Chet Coppock TV & Radio Broadcasting Career
Chet Coppock starts his career as a broadcaster in 1966, at the age of 17. He broadcast football and basketball on WNTH radio, the school radio station at New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL.
In 1970-1971, He was hired to produce Milwaukee Bucks radio network. The radio network was led by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson. He had hosted a TV talk show “Sport Rap” on WSNC TV, later the association led coppock into the role as the voice of the Roller Derby, for a long time. He was sports director at CBS-affiliate WISH-TV for Six Year.
In 1988, Chet Coppock was the ring announcer at WrestleMania 2 and commentator for RadioWWF at WrestleMania X. In the same year he continues Coppock on Sports and he was also the host of pre-game, half-time and post-game shows for the Chicago Bulls radio network.
In 1990, He hosted “Back Table” andco-hosted “Mike Ditka”. He was the host of “NewSportTalk”. He had hosted many talks show on sports.
In 2000, he had hosted Notre Dame football and basketball pregame and postgame shows on WLS Radio.
In 2009, he published his first book titled “Fat Guys Shouldn’t be Dancin” and In 2010 he hosted The Winning Edge on the Discovery Channel.
In 2007 Chet Coppock also performed in a movie called “The Express“. He played a role of a football consultant in the movie.
Chet Coppock had done commercial jobs for various clients include McDonald’s, Wheaties, Chevrolet and more.
He had hosted the Chicago Blackhawks Heritage Series and sponsorship events for Blackhawks. He was inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame and honored with the Jack Brickhouse Lifetime Achievement Award.
Chet Coppock Death
As per the news reports, Chet Coppock died on April 17, 2019 after several injuries due to car accident outside Hilton Head Island, South Carolina on April 6, 2019. He was transferred to the Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah for the treatment. He was the passenger in the car, car was driven by a 50 year old lady.
His daughter also posts a post on the facebook writes “We lost our father Chet Coppock on April 17, 2019”. He was 70 year old at the time of his death.
