Doris Day was an American actress. She was born on April 3, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S her birth name was “Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff”. She was also a singer & animal welfare activist. Doris Day has recorded more than 650 songs from 1947 to 1967 as a solo artist, after leaving ”Les Brown & His Band of Renown”.  She was one of the mostly acclaimed singers in the 20th century.

Doris Day married four times. First she was married to “Al Jorden (trombonist)” marriage last from March 1941 to February 1943. After this she married to “George William Weidler (saxophonist)” and he becomes his second husband marriage from March 30, 1946 to May 31 1949.

After two marriages then she married to her third husbandMartin Melcher” on April 3, 1951 on her 29th birthday. This marriage was lasted until the death of Melcher Melcher in April 1968.

After the death of her third husband she married to her fourth husband to “Barry Comden” the marriage last from April 14 1976 until April 2, 1982.

After the retirement from the film industry she lived in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. She had adopted many pets and stray animals. Doris Day only child, Terry Melcher is a music producer and songwriter.

As per the news reports, Doris Day passed away on 13 May 2019 after contracting pneumonia. She was 97 year old at the time of her death. Her death was announced by her charity, the Doris Day Animal Foundation.
